Fits GM Gen III & IV LS Engines.
The factory plastic barbell is .020” +/- smaller than the oil galley.This allows particles as big as 500 Microns to bypass the filter. When oil bypasses the Barbell it goes unfiltered to the rest of the engine. In comparison, depending on brand, the oil filter will filter out particles approximately 25 Microns and larger. Our Aluminum Billet Barbell is machined to provide .001” clearance, and unlike others, includes an additional O-ring to virtually eliminate any oil bypassing the diverter. For easy removal we have also added a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the end of our Barbell. Just screw in a standard 1/4x20 bolt and easily remove it for service and inspection.
